Welcome to The Italian Genealogist. My name is Sylvia. I'm American by birth, Italian by marriage and osmosis; I have lived and worked in Florence, Italy, since 1981.

 

I have a master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences with a specialization in Cultural Heritage Preservation. I'm an academic librarian, family historian, and genealogist, in addition to being a mother of two and descendant of many. I love art, history, culture, research, and breaking through brick walls (figuratively speaking).

 

I approach genealogy with passion, attention to detail, and the determination to find answers. As a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists I take the APG code of ethics seriously. Trust, truth, and transparency are the hallmarks of my trade.
