Welcome to The Italian Genealogist. My name is Sylvia. I'm American by birth, Italian by marriage and osmosis; I have lived and worked in Florence, Italy, since 1981.

 

With a master’s degree in Library and Information Sciences, I carry out onsite genealogical research in Tuscany for Anglo-American descendants of Italian emigrants. I, myself, am the proud mother of two and descendant of many. But, in addition to building trees and solving puzzles, I love art, history, and the abundance of aesthetic beauty Italy has to offer.

 

I approach genealogy with passion, attention to detail, and the determination to find answers. As a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists I take the APG code of ethics seriously. Trust, truth, and transparency are the hallmarks of my trade.
